Discernment Opportunities

One of the best ways to discover whether or not God may be calling you to a particular community, is to spend time with them. Jesus told his first apostles, “Come and see.” The Capuchins likewise invite you to come, stay with us, pray with us, get the feel of our daily life and spirituality. There are several different possibilities available, each is described briefly below. See the column at right for a list of upcoming events and be sure to register in the online form at the bottom of this page.

Rebuild My Church Discernment Retreats

Our weekend vocation retreats take their name from an encounter St. Francis of Assisi once had with the Lord. While kneeling before the San Damiano Crucifix, the saint heard the voice of Jesus say, "Francis... rebuild My church which, as you see, is in ruins... " Join the friars for a time of prayer, fraternity, reflections on the Capuchin Franciscan spirituality and charism, as well as visits to our ministries among the poor in our local community.

St. Anthony Friary Visit

Spend a few days at our new postulancy house in Denver, Colorado. Here you will have the opportunity to spend time with Capuchin brothers at different levels of formation and check out the postulancy program in person. This is a great chance to witness the life of the brothers up close and to ask questions of the men who are still in the initial stages of formation.

Borromeo College Visitation

Travel to Cleveland, Ohio with the Capuchin friars where you will have the opportunity to visit St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Seminary. The Mid-America Province provides candidates who are working toward a four year degree with an undergraduate seminary education prior to their entering postulancy.
