Pray With Us For Vocations to the Capuchin Franciscan Life During This Holy Season
December, 2013 “The joy of the gospel fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus. Those who accept his offer of salvation are set free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness and loneliness. With Christ joy is constantly born anew.” With these words Pope Francis begins his letter entitled “The Joy of the Gospel”. And what perfect timing as we enter into this time to Keep Watch for the coming of our savior! We call on him in all of our needs. “But how can they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how can they believe in him of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone to preach? And how can people preach unless they are sent? As it is written,How beautiful are the feet of those who bring the good news!” (Romans 10: 14-15) Is this not the evangelical of the Capuchin Franciscan way of life? And you are helping with that as you pray with us for the ten men in formation….for the six men who are actively applying for next year…right now! Your prayers are so important to us. We offer you a promise that you are in the prayers of our Vocation Team as we continue to work in this harvest of vocations. Help us to proclaim the “Joy of the Gospel” as we continue to encourage young men to trust and take a next step with the Capuchin Franciscans. May God bless you, your family and friends.

PRAYER FOR VOCATIONS FOR DECEMBER Almighty and eternal God, in your unfailing love you provide ministers for your Church. We pray for those whom you call to serve the Church as a Capuchin Franciscan. Inspire in them a generous response. Grant them courage and vision to serve your people May their lives and service call your people to respond to the presence of your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ, we may: announce glad tidings to the poor proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free and renew the face of the earth. We pray this through Christ our Lord. Mary, Queen of the Friars Minor, pray for us!
