Sr. Adriana Becomes a US Citizen
Sr. Adriana Gonzalez, a Capuchin Poor Clare at our Lady of Light Monastery in Denver, CO, left the courtroom on Saturday, Aug. 18, an official citizen of the United States of America.

Sister is one of nine Capuchin Poor Clares living at the Denver Monastery, of whom all but one were born in Mexico. All of the sisters are now official citizens of the USA, save one. As such the sisters have the full rights guaranteed to all citizens, except that they will never be able to run for president.

Present with Sr. Adriana at the ceremony were Abbess Sr. Maria de Cristo, Fr. Blaine Burkey, Br. Larry Bowers (not pictured), and Alma Gonzalez, Sr. Adriana's blood sister, who traveled all the way from Mexico.

Sister is originally from Irapuato Gto. Mexico where some of her family still resides. Among other duties, sister serves as the novice mistress at Our Lady of Light. Congratulations to Sr. Adriana!
